The Mystery of Underwater Life
The wide diversity of life in the oceans today is to be found from the brightest shallows to the darkest depths and from warm lagoons around the equator to the chill waters that lap the polar ice caps.
In all their diverse environments, the oceans provide a great profusion and variety of life and harbor some of the most beautiful and often bizarre creatures.

What makes the underwater world so intriguing, and why does it inspire rubber-clad individuals to dive into the sea, dragging with them cameras, lenses, flash units, and film.
It is truly another world -- a world of motion, weightlessness, and virtual silence. Like outer space, it offers us a sense of mystery and adventure, the thrill of discovery, and the promise of excitement.
The sea creatures we encounter underwater often have unusual, if not bizarre, shapes and colors that provide a never-ending supply of photographic subjects.
Or is it us--that is unusual and bizarre?
